Where Nature Becomes the Classroom
The Promised Land Community is partnering with EcoLearn Foundation, a nonprofit environmental education organization, to create a hands-on learning experience that brings generations together.
Right here on the Promised Land property, our land, water, gardens and wildlife will become part of a living classroom where people can learn how the world around us works, how food grows, how ecosystems depend on one another, and how we can become better stewards of what God has entrusted to us.
Learn It. Experience It. Pass It On.
EcoLearn is about learning by doing.
Our growing environmental learning areas will include a stocked pond, greenhouse, community
garden, beehives for honey production, bees and pollinators, composting, soil health, wildlife
habitat and water ecology.
We'll also be growing our own vegetables, giving residents and visiting groups opportunities to
learn about planting, growing, harvesting, composting and how food moves from the garden to
the table.
Youth groups, homeschool groups, families and community organizations will be invited to
participate in workshops and hands-on learning experiences.
Instead of only reading about an ecosystem, they'll be able to see it, touch it, grow it and
experience it.
A Place Where Generations Meet
One of the things that makes EcoLearn at Promised Land different is the people who live here.
Our residents have decades of knowledge, skills and life experience.
Residents who want to participate can receive free EcoLearn training and have opportunities to
help with workshops, mentor younger generations, demonstrate skills or even lead a program
themselves.
You might teach a child about gardening. Help someone understand bees and pollination.
Show a group how compost becomes healthy soil. Teach someone to fish. Or simply share something you've learned during a lifetime of experience.
One generation has a lot to give the next.
Learning, Stewardship and Purpose
EcoLearn gives Promised Land another way to live out something we believe deeply: we should care for what has been entrusted to us.
The land isn't simply the place where our homes sit. It's an opportunity to learn, teach, serve and bring people together.
And for our residents, EcoLearn offers something equally important: another opportunity for purpose.
Participation is always a choice. You can join a workshop, help teach one, enjoy the community garden, go fishing, or simply enjoy watching everything grow.

EcoLearn at Promised Land will continue growing as new projects and educational
opportunities are added. We welcome schools, homeschool groups, youth organizations, churches, families and
community organizations that would like to participate in future learning opportunities.
We also welcome volunteers, businesses, donors and community partners who would like to
help us build and grow EcoLearn at The Promised Land Community.
There are many ways to get involved, from volunteering your time or expertise to helping
provide materials, equipment, plants, educational supplies and financial support for future
projects.
