Why The Promised Land Community Exists
The Promised Land Community provides affordable independent living for adults 55+ and veterans, and a place where people can belong, have purpose, and live alongside like-minded people who want to honor God and the world we live in.
We believe God opened the door for this community, and we want what happens here to honor Him. Promised Land is about more than affordable housing. It's a home where people know your name, where you can live independently without living in isolation, enjoy meals and activities with neighbors, serve others and continue growing in your faith.
It's also a place where the experience, knowledge, gifts and talents you've gained throughout
your life can still be used for a purpose.
Purpose Through EcoLearn
Through our partnership with EcoLearn, the land is becoming a living classroom where
residents and younger generations can learn together about the ecosystem through the stocked
pond, greenhouse, gardens, bees and pollinators, composting, wildlife and water ecology.
Youth groups, homeschool groups, families and community organizations will be able to
participate in hands-on learning and workshops.
Residents who choose to participate can receive free EcoLearn training, help teach or mentor
younger generations, participate in workshops, or perhaps lead one themselves.
And sometimes purpose may be as simple as taking a child fishing and teaching them
something they'll remember.
This is not simply a place to live. It's a place to belong, to serve, to keep growing, and to
continue using the gifts and experience God has given each one of us.
Independent Living With Outside Support
Promised Land is independent living, not assisted living, and we do not provide
medical care or personal-assistance services.
If additional help is wanted or needed, residents and families may independently arrange for third-party home health, personal care or other outside providers.
Growing With Purpose
Phase One is open and welcoming residents now.
As Promised Land grows, additional housing and EcoLearn opportunities will continue to be added.
Promised Land exists to serve people, strengthen community, care for the land, and create opportunities for one generation to pour into the next.
We're grateful for every resident, veteran, family, donor, volunteer, church, business and community partner who becomes part of this work.
And through it all, we remember that the land, the opportunities and everything we build with them are blessings that have been entrusted to us.
