Our Community

More Than a Place to Live... A Place to Belong.

At The Promised Land Community, we believe everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, valued, and connected.

The Promised Land Community was created to provide a different kind of independent living. Instead of a large institutional setting, we've created a peaceful, home-like community where seniors and veterans can enjoy their independence while building meaningful friendships and living with dignity and purpose.

Located on five beautiful acres just minutes from the Tyler VA Medical Center, and The Tyler State Park. The Promised Land Community offers a unique alternative for those who desire the comfort of a real home, the beauty of country living, and the security of a caring community.

Residents may choose a private furnished bedroom in our welcoming shared home or one of our private tiny homes, while enjoying all the benefits of community living.

Each day, residents are invited to gather in our Community Center to enjoy home-cooked meals around the table, sharing conversation, laughter, and fellowship with friends. For those who prefer more privacy or are not feeling well, meals can also be delivered to their bedroom or tiny home.

Some of life's most meaningful moments happen around the table, and we believe sharing a meal together is one of the best ways to build lasting friendships and create a true sense of community.

Housekeeping, laundry service, utilities, high-speed internet, and property maintenance are all included, allowing residents to spend less time worrying about daily chores and more time enjoying life.

Whether it's relaxing on the porch with a cup of coffee, tending a garden, feeding the birds, visiting with neighbors, welcoming family and grandchildren, or simply enjoying the peaceful beauty of East Texas, life here is centered on community, independence, and belonging.

Our goal is simple: to help residents remain independent for as long as possible while living in a place where they are known, valued, and never alone.

Why "The Promised Land Community"?

Throughout Scripture, the Promised Land represented far more than a destination. It was God's promise of provision, peace, hope, and a future after a long journey.

It was described as a land flowing with milk and honey, a place of rest, security, and belonging. A place to finally call home.

That vision is the inspiration behind The Promised Land Community.

We believe every senior and every veteran deserves more than a place to live. They deserve a place where they are welcomed, valued, surrounded by genuine friendship, dignity, and purpose.

For many veterans, the peace and freedom we enjoy today came through their courage and sacrifice. They answered the call to protect our nation, preserving the freedoms that allow families and communities to flourish.

The Promised Land Community exists to honor that legacy by creating a place where seniors and veterans can experience the security of home, the warmth of friendship, and the peace of knowing they belong.

Our hope is that this community reflects the spirit of the Promised Land itself: a place of provision, peace, hope, and new beginnings.

Whether someone is beginning a new chapter after retirement, after the loss of a spouse, after military service, or simply seeking a simpler life surrounded by caring neighbors, we want them to find more than housing.

We want them to find home.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide affordable, independent living in a home-like community where seniors and veterans can continue living with dignity, purpose, and independence.

We are committed to creating an environment where friendships flourish, neighbors become family, and every resident feels respected, valued, and supported.

Through faith, compassion, and genuine hospitality, we strive to create a place where people don't simply grow older...they continue living.

Our Values

Dignity

Every resident is treated with respect, kindness, and compassion.

Independence

Residents maintain their freedom while enjoying the support and community around them.

Community

Life is richer when it is shared. We encourage friendships, fellowship, and neighbors who become like family.
